200 Game Designers Worldwide

...We are currently recruiting and training over 200 skilled artisans to create a really cool video game.

The goal of the group is to deliver an inspiring message to the world in the form of a video game. We are not out to make another killer or thriller, or anything extremely dark or disturbing, but rather something both cool and inspiring, and at the same time adventurous and intriguing.

Our game will be an adventure game, with a 3D character in a full 3D world. It will be released in the new Intel AppUp store selling for $30.

We have a working proprietary game engine, developed over a period of more than 5 years. It currently supports Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7. It supports 48000 polys on low-end video cards, has a full 3D character animation system, MP3-quality music and sound effects, and a cut-scene engine with voice dialogue. We will be adding additional features as more people join the group.

We plan to use freeware programs, namely Blender, Gimp, Audacity, etc. to develop content for the game.

Our current step is to recruit at least 200 people, and in the meantime train the people who have joined to use the tools and techniques used by our engine. We will be placing classifieds in newspapers and online listings around the world, as well as advertising on facebook, linkedIn, craigslist and other viable sources.

We will be training people, particularly in how to use Blender to produce content (primarily characters, environments, and animation) for our game. We will also be using voice actors for the dialogue.

We're looking for writers, concept artists and storyboard artists interested in joining our team to help develop the concept. We're also looking for modelers, animators, texture artists, programmers, musicians, sound designers, voice actors, and producers.

No experience is necessary, but you've gotta have some chops to get in...

  • You must prove yourself to be talented and dedicated in an area that applies to making or marketing video games.
  • You can live anywhere in the world, but you must be fluent in english.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have excellent computer skills that directly apply to the field of game development or marketing video games.
  • You must fill out an application in entirety (takes about 30-45 minutes)
  • If accepted into the group, you must have (or get) a web camera with a microphone and have skype installed. (we recommend Logitech HD webcam C270 - $35 on amazon)
  • You must agree to work during a specific schedule every month. You choose how many hours to work and which hours those are up to 40 hours per week. (And you can change your schedule each month.)
  • In the event the game makes money, each contributor will be compensated with the profits every three months after the game is released, according to how many hours they worked as compared to the other members. However, you must be willing to volunteer your time and efforts without any compensation along the way. We are in this to gain experience, and because we like making games and want to spend our time working on a cool project with other talented and dedicated people. We expect it will lead to greater things for its members, and maybe for the group as a whole.
